Area of work

Education and the training of digital lawyers

Supporting the training of a new generation of lawyers able to operate at the intersection of law, technology and public administration.

Flagship project

School of Digital Jurisprudence at Astana IT University

IGUP carries out comprehensive work on preparing and supporting the licensing procedure for launching the School of Digital Jurisprudence — a modern educational platform for training the next generation of digital lawyers. The Institute serves as the key partner in building this programme, from licensing through to the launch of the educational process.

Context

Why this matters for Kazakhstan

Launching the School aligns directly with Kazakhstan’s state course on digital transformation. The Digital Kazakhstan concept, the development of e-government and the regulation of artificial intelligence call for lawyers able to operate at the intersection of law and technology.

Market analysis shows that Kazakhstan has only a limited number of specialised programmes, while demand for digital lawyers in the public sector, business and the IT industry keeps growing. Global practice confirms this trend: leading international companies increasingly seek specialists capable of combining legal expertise with an understanding of digital processes.

With rapid AI development, cyberattacks and digital transactions, a lawyer without technological literacy loses competitiveness.
